SQL is specially designed for accessing and manipulating databases. Over the course of the past few years, SQL has garnered immense popularity in multiple domains, including database administration, backend web development, Data Science, and Business Intelligence (BI). These fields involve storing and retrieving colossal volumes of data for data analysis, which makes SQL skills a must. Â
Data Science uses tools to derive, mine, and analyze data to solve business problems. SQL is a querying language tool that works on manipulating and handling relational databases to manage and analyze the data in specific methods- seeking to extract fruitful results.
It is an efficient management system aimed at simplifying the tedious process of extracting data from the mountainous pile of databases by plating the role of a language communicator between the human operating the collection and the computer system carrying the load. The commands are the language inputs that the other end of the software understands.

What is SQL?
SQL is used to store and manipulate data in databases. It is used to create, store, edit and retrieve data from a database. Users must have access to a database in order to use SQL commands. SQL can be used to create, modify and delete tables. It is also used to insert, update and delete records in the tables. SQL can be used to retrieve data from the database.
What are the applications of SQL?
SQL has applications in almost every field nowadays. It can be used where a person is working on data and he needs to manipulate it in any way. Some of the examples of fields where people use SQL for manipulating data can be seen here: 1. Medicine: SQL is used in the medical field for storing medical records and for extracting it and keeping it in the database. 2. Law: SQL is used in law firms for storing the information about their clients, case files, etc. 3. Finance: Finance is one of the fields where SQL is used in a big way. It is used in stock exchanges, financial institutes, etc. In every field, data needs to be collected and stored. SQL can be used to store and manipulate that data. The data can be kept in a database, which is a collection of information. SQL is used in database management. It's one of the most useful languages out there.
What are the limitations of SQL?
SQL is a client-server technology. Its nature is such that it is limited to the database server on which it is installed. So, there is no possibility of integrating data between different databases or even with other servers. If a database is located in multiple servers, then it is possible that SQL Server may not be able to access it. Still another limitation of SQL Server is that it uses a single set of processes to manage all data of the server. This tends to become a problem when a database is mission-critical and requires round-the-clock access.
